Magnets, projectiles and power sources running through my mind lately. Future gun?

Lets figure a tube with a negative charge and a positively charged "bullet" at time of fire energize a stronger positively charged magnet to propel it out of barrel. The bullet is suspended in air due to opposite charges in barrel.

But one you can put in your pocket. If i knew how to generate and shoot plasma itd be a plasma pistol

Plasma would just dissipate into the air. Plasma weapons are just one of those scifi ideas that makes no sense, but maybe im just not sciencing hard enough
