selling drugs on your website is really not a moral thing to do.

1. He didn't sell drugs, he made a website where others bought and sold drugs. And he wasn't prosecuted for selling any drugs either.

2. Have you ever had a drink? smoked weed? Drank coffee? These things are drugs, in fact alcohol is far worse, more addictive and causes more violence than many of the supposed "evil" drugs. Illegality and immorality have nothing to do with each other. Violence is immoral, letting someone voluntarily by a plant and another person voluntarily sell it to them without any violence involved at all is NOT immoral. Destroying either of those people's lives because you are upset or uncomfortable about their sovereign choices in the other hand, is explicitly and directly evil.

The thing is I completely agree on the massive problem here, but i think everything about how the govt has handled it has done nothing but make it worse. And all the stats back that up. Illegality is simply not the solution.

Well as someone in recovery from alcohol and opiate addiction, I personally don’t blame anyone. I used to buy benzos from online registered pharmacies in Switzerland (it’s not under EU laws), and they didn’t just have a marketplace. They actually posted them out. It was eventually shut down. Not one of them went to jail. Ross sent out nothing, just ran an open marketplace, and he got a life sentence. So unjust.

This doesn’t answer my question. Your logic is perfectly applied in my example. So what is my friend guilty of? He has 100% sold beer to an alcoholic before whether he knows it or not. What is his level of guilt?

Not one single example of a person being harmed as a result of Silk Road was presented as evidence in his trial. And the bullshit “hit” it’s claimed he ordered was thrown out of court as baseless. He wasn’t found guilty of a single act that harmed anyone. He got 40 years for writing code, essentially.

You have to separate the violence from the problem. I know many people who have had their lives destroyed and who have been violent because of alcoholism. That doesn’t mean that putting them in a cage or stealing from them is the solution. To the contrary it is often an enabler and amplifier.

I’m sorry you have had a terrible experience, but your categorization of me or my “lack of experience” might suggest you aren’t considering a real solution and only projecting an anger about it onto others.

One does not have to have cancer in order to understand or be knowledgeable about what does or does not work in treating it.

Death to drug dealers. but my surgeons, anesthesiologist and pharmacists have allowed me to live.

amitriptaline, gabapentin, fentynel. ... All great stuff. LOL.

i still take 10mg amitriptaline every day but 100mg into a teenager is directly linked to suicides and irreversable psychotic episodes.

Are you, or are you not aware, that a majority of the drug abuse and addiction in this country is with prescription drugs? My uncle has been turned into one of these zombies you speak of, and every bit of it is legally prescribed. Because of it he has cut himself off from his family and he’s completely unstable. He goes through fits of rage that are “fixed” with a number of psychoactive drugs.

If your argument literally relies on the fact that “doctors only do good things” and “drug dealers are bad.” Then unfortunately a simple look at the real state of our drug problem reveals that to be nonsense. With respect.
