Retiring has been an interesting road to travel.

Here’s the thing; you don’t realize how much PTSD you have for many many months after leaving work.

I’ve been out since Feb. & am just starting to feel 100% normal.

Get out while you can. While you’re young & plan on decompressing from years of abuse. These are facts. I’m early 50’s & wish I did this 10 years ago.

You just live in denial this is fine. I don't even mind my work but would be bliss without it. Goals.

I guarantee you that what I did for a living would put you in the fetal position.

Work is about making money. That’s it my friend. And I was very good at it.

You “find your passion” guys HFSP. The real men pay your salaries so you can sip your tea.

Yay 🥳 science 🧬 Wanna talk about human gene splicing & manipulation? Or nah?

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) promotes international collaboration in basic research focused on the elucidation of the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms.

😂 find your passion ops

Ok boomer

We're boomers now at 50 already? Damn 🤣

As I fly past the 30 year old on the ice. Boomer my ass.

😂

100%. The cubicle is a prison, break free

I never sniffed a cubicle.

I sold big ticket software for 27 years. 3 startup exits as well.

Real work. With real expectations & pressure.

Lots of fake work out there. Lots.

Companies I worked for hired more people based on how well I did.

For real, cantilionaire effect is real. We are now mostly a parasite economy leaching as middle men between people who buy and provide real stuff. Just look at our cities, no longer factories or production facilities, just office blocks..

Most work I see is charity. Big Companies are forced to hire people.

I visited so many companies in my time. Id always ask what the fuck most of the people were doing there. Just sitting around.

Very true, what do U recommend to young people now though?

Sales or write code. That’s it.

Sell anything. Get a real quota. Get in front of people. Learn to public speak.

Write code but become the direct liaison to the business (support the sales team directly if you can). Be Indispensable. A Revenue producer. Don’t be a back room guy & hide.

I can confirm. I’m in my mid 30s and I wish it did this too 10 years ago lol

Congrats man!

Makes sense. Lots of people don’t even get to enjoy their retirement. They retire and not long after they fall ill and expire. They spent all their good years stressing out for someone else. Being healthy is also super important

That’s my quant 👆. And fren 🥹

Damn dude…👆that is awesome…I retired a year ago but got sucked back in on a light and very flexible schedule… so there’d be a hot body and someone to do hands on invasive procedures in our hospital…I justified it by committing to DCA 100% of my after tax $s into BTC.

But I just got back from a 2 week trip to Italy and a last fall did a 5 week RV trip to the keys and I have to say ur argument sounds pretty good🤯🙌🏽🫡
