It makes it really easy to tell who doesn’t actually care about the financial revolution that is Bitcoin, or at least understand the bigger picture of a sound global currency.

If people want private transactions and don’t care about the monetary properties, why not just use ECash? Or Liquid? I suppose both have a small user set which makes it harder to be anonymous at this point but that will definitely change with time.

I think that deep down there is some shitcoiner level of cope going on, where real technical people who like cypherpunk ideas wish they had bought Bitcoin at $100 and see Monero as a chance for redemption.

It’s a shiny object. The idea of a perfectly private sound money is amazing. Unfortunately, there are these things called trade offs.
