You can collapse the text by clicking the expand button at the bottom.

And you can collapse all navigation by clicking the hamburger button.

I honestly didn't figure see this out of the gate.

I am not talking about collapsing the Navbar, mate. I am talking about the navbar width when it is not collaped. :-)

How come you want it wider (left menu)? Just a preference, perhaps it looks less "crowded"?
