Have I been robbed ?

The car normally charges between 23:30 - 5:30 on cheap 7p juice.

The Intelligent charger can override if excess renewables and price drops. This happened today 6:00-6:30.

Because I have a house battery, when the car charges (7kW) outside of "cheap o'clock" it takes 5kW from my battery & 2 from the grid.

So after lunch there will be a glut of solar/wind. My battery will be replenished with "free" solar.

If the battery is full I'd export to the grid for 15p

At those prices I wouldn't worry much.

My battery only holds 10KWh. If I charge my car on that its empty within the hour for a appaling 15% of extra SoC.

To both of you with house batteries, in the event your grid goes down and sun is cloudy, about how long would your houses run with just was is stored in the battery, I’m thinking of building a house and am curious what kind of resilience you can get from a battery system in terms of days or hours of energy off the battery. Thanks!

Depends on what you do with the power really, if you're frugal it can last for a day or 3 on 10KWh. But if you're not frugal and you charge your car on it you have an hour.

Personally I would prefer to have about 50KWh battery but that shit's expensive.
