I’ve seen this suggestion many times (and you may not even mean this literally) but “most capable builder ≠ smartest.”

Again, your post might even be sarcastic, but I just find the conflation between “compute” power, intuitive intelligence, and the capacity to build and get things done, just kind of frustrating.

Most people just conflate these as “smart,” so if someone have an IQ of “whatever they think is high” then the fact that they might have zero intuition for the truth and might be a total pessimist and mentally incapacitated because of their view on the world, they (and others) think they inherently have the right answer despite being the most likely to convince themselves of the *wrong* answer.

Similarly Elon is certainly smart, but his power is his confidence and incredible capability to just “do things.” He simply has a mental frame that says “yeah that’s possible, why wouldn’t it be,” and honestly even with mediocre “compute” intelligence, that’s a fucking super power. But if you have higher than average compute intelligence and intuition together with the capacity, focus, and confidence to just “do stuff,” you’re damn near guaranteed to succeed at whatever you do.

This was an entirely unnecessary and lengthy caveat to your very simple and unassuming post… but I typed it anyway so here you have to read it now 😂

Nobody does unnecessary caveats better.
