The only ones pushing for that fedcoin are either rich hippies tweeting from the beach, fed employees pushing hard to make it a religious thing and an ocean of desperate people wishing for "money go up" and save them poverty.
It was never about privacy because neither of those three groups cares the least about it nor will ever use crypto in real life.
Monero is the only crypto that people really use to buy and sell stuff or just send money to each other.
There are many cryptos people use to buy and sell stuff including Dash and many stablecoins.
yet none is widely used seriously as xmr.
