Can you have a list of all the parts your using?

Examine the cpu pins to make sure they aren't bent or worse

Double check that power cables to video card are securely connected completely

Try pulling out all but one stick of RAM

If you have integrated video on motherboard, try pulling out video card and configure to use integrated in the bios

Also, if you can take a picture or video of the crash sequence it might be helpful in ascertaining what's happening

Ryzen 5 3600 - USED

Asrock B550M Pro4 - NEW

GTX 1660 Super- USED

Thermalright cooler - NEW

Thermalright GX2 600w - NEW

ddr4 3200 mhz ram -NEW

Micron SSD - moved from last computer

I have reseated the CPU, reseated and replaced GPU, checked each stick of RAM and a memory check, reset BIOS to default, and tried to do a clean install with a live USB. No luck.

It posts to BIOS no issues. I can usually get it to the grub but as I try to boot the OS it just stops and reboots to BIOS. I either just get the Linux splash screen for a minute or if I boot it in recovery mode it runs script for a bit and boot loops.

It doesn’t give me any errors but finally got it to give me this below. A boot loop is almost always RAM but I am wondering if the CPU is bad

Seems like you have tested most of the stuff what about the hard drive. It works fine if you run from the usb with something like knoppix but not if you run from the drive? Your output doesn’t mean anything to me I just hadn’t heard you say anything about the hard drive. Or verify all was well booting from another source.

I plugged in a live USB. It loads the grub but if I try to load the live version or comparability version it stops during loading and reboots to BIOS

Gotcha, that’s all I got, good luck!

Thank you 🙏. I’ve tried everything I know to do. Compatibility mode should have fixed it if it was a software / driver issue.

All I can come up with is the CPU is bad. Not impossible but that generally doesn’t happen

Updated the BIOS just because. Didn’t fix it but got it to at least freeze instead of crash. PROGRESS!

Does it do same when booting from live USB disk?

No change. Crashes on loading, even in compatibility mode. Should I just buy a new CPU?

It's a tough call. May need to do that.

I have a brand new one coming tomorrow. If that doesn’t work then I am fresh out of ideas

It works!!! It was a bad CPU. I put a new one in and it fired right up, no issues whatsoever. I’m so happy!

Thank you to everyone who offered their help!!!

That's awesome!!!!
