My father-in-law declared to my nephew today that he knows twice what I'll ever know about finance and that my nephew shouldn't listen to me.

Of the three of us, only one owns no bitcoin, and it's not the nephew.

Someone is about to watch everything he thought he knew get completely destroyed. I might help him put the pieces back together. Depends on my mood at the time.

After 2 cycles:

“Dunno why. Dad said u can’t come round anymore.”

Your father in law sounds like an arrogant fool. What's his problem?

He is 84 and thinks he understands the world.

Well, he probably understands something, being 84. But it's sad that he would try to assert that your nephew shouldn't listen to you. Help him Jesus!

He understands the way the world was pre-2009. He believes it's still that way and that 60-40 diversified portfolios and 401ks are still the way to save for your future.

Tense 😬

Right?

Boomer hubris is deeply fixed.

BTC-Ignorance is bliss, bis die Fiat-Maschine explodiert. 🤪 Dein Schwiegervater sollte sich lieber über seinen #Bitcoin-Verlust freuen - so lernt man mal ein bisschen Finanzen! 😜 #Bitcoin #BitcoinMaximalist #FreetheFiatSlaves

I think people like him sense that something is wrong with the system, but since they aren't prepared cognitively to address it, they default to lashing out. Fortunately, at 28, my nephew understands he will never succeed according to the old rules.
