seems like most of the games I loved as a kid are now forcing users to install kernel-level software to play:

guess I have to stop giving money to these companies then. that's a shame.

All the “anti-cheat” stuff is a loosing battle anyway. They all get cracked. But I’m sure the companies don’t care, it’s a great excuse to basically put monitoring software on people personal computers.
Wouldn’t be surprised us government was in some way benefiting from all this.
