Life hack:
Keep binoculars in your vehicle at all times. You never know when the opportunity to birdwatch will present itself.

Chickadees are fun
I also love seeing red-tailed hawks. Finding them in the Boston area more and more lately

Shrikes and Hoopoes 🤙🏼
Saw my first and only Hoopoe in Italy…I was breath-taken and had no idea what I was looking at…Google-searched key words for multiple minutes before I could identify it!!
Hummingbird! Love them, miss them! Excellent hack, I’d also suggest to have a camera with a good telephoto lens! 🐶🐾🫡🫂🕊️🪺
I live in a wooded area near a 1000 acre preservation I have turkey vultures everywhere along with large eagles 🦅 nests in trees on my property
That’s incredible!!!
I like curvier ones
Owls are my fave, but we were lucky to see the national bird of El Salvador, the turquoise browed motmot while visiting the ruins at El Tazumal. I thought our guide was going to have a heart attack. He was born and raised in ES and had never seen one in the wild. It is beautiful.

Eagles are amazing, but whiskey jacks are cool. When our family is out on the land, they will eat right out of my kid’s hands. It never gets old.
That’s great! And happy to learn about a bird I’ve never heard of!!
Yes, if you are in western Canada skiing you can put a piece of granola on the end of your pole and raise it up in the sky and they will fly down and land on it and eat. If you’re in the alpine of most hikes, you simply place a piece of food in the palm of your hand and one will arrive. Seeing my kids faces light up is priceless!

Bald eagles have a nest near our place in BC and it’s incredible seeing them fly by close up. 🦅
Yes! It puts into perspective how big they are. Have you ever gone to Brackendale to view them in the fall? My kids love it. During the salmon run, where I live, they line the rivers three rows deep. You should plan a trip to Haida Gwaii. Good place to find some peace and quiet :) Here's an eagle that followed us around for a bit when we visited.

Will have to add both to our list to check out! HG has definitely been of interest…just a bit of a trek to get to! Haha
Brackendale is close, just outside Squamish. Best time is in the morning in the fall. HG is definitely a trek, but different than any other place in BC :)
😯 I bet that’s beautiful 🤩
Falcons for speed. Owls for silence. https://youtu.be/d_FEaFgJyfA
