WHY I AM BULLISH ON MONERO

By: Monero Orange Pills

1. ATOMIC SWAPS - Once this is complete, many speculate Silk road and Bitcoin OGs will swap Bitcoin for Monero without a 3rd party to clean their history and start fresh. This will also open the flood gates to Monero for every Bitcoin user.

2. THORCHAIN INTREGATION - The first cross chain native DEX is adding Monero and Haven soon. This will be a total game changer and make Monero super easy to get. Monero users will also be able to add native XMR liquidity and get paid for it.

3. HAVENO DEX - An on / off ramp for Monero without KYC is launching and will be integrating into Samourai Wallet.

4. TRANSACTION COUNT - The transaction count for Monero is at an all time high and growing rapidly while Bitcoin transaction count doesn't go up.

5. MINER COUNT - The miner count is growing rapidly and is over 100,000. Anyone can mine Monero with a normal computer.

6. DARK WEB - The dark web has abandoned Bitcoin and adopted Monero. This is what made Bitcoin popular in the 1st place. Criminals historically use the best tech first.

7. CRYPTO CENSORSHIP - Some bitcoin miners are censoring transactions. Coinjoined BTC is being flagged as tainted by many services. Tether addresses are being blacklisted. Governments want to add more censorship and regulations.

8. FUNGIBLE - One XMR = One XMR. Surveillance coins have different values as some are tainted or are virgin coins (mined). As crypto censorship increases, fungibility will become so important

9. SUPERIOR TECH - Monero is clearly the superior choice for those in it for the tech. Monero also has the 3rd most developers outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

10. ADOPTION - More and more people and businesses are accepting Monero. Fees are around $0.002 making it a superior payment method compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum which have high fees.

11. 4CHAN /BIZ/ - Monero is a top 5 mentioned coin on the forum. Biz boys sent Chainlink from 50 cents to $40. Monero is the new thing on biz.

12. PRIVACY - Are you fine with everyone knowing your balance, your customers and every purchase you ever made? Your maid, your competitors, your government, Klaus Schwab? Privacy is King.

13. GREAT RESET - They want you to own nothing and be happy by 2030. They want you to use CBDC's. Monero may be the only currency outside of the NWO system. Owning it will become extremely valuable.

14. DONATIONS - Donating with Bitcoin to political causes, controversial figures, alt tech, etc can get you cancelled. The BTC blockchain is being surveilled by many firms and governments. Monero is a safe way to donate without giving up your data.

15. COMMUNITY - Monero has a very smart and talented community. Most of the people in the Monero community really understand cryptocurrency and tech. Many of them were early Bitcoin adapters.

Monero superior for payments is sus. Last I checked it took over 10 minutes to transfer funds for me. You don't have a layer 2 like lightning that I've heard of either.

Did you transfer funds from an exchange?

Monero doesn't have RBF so 0 conf is relatively safe compared to Bitcoin. Especially for small payments.

Lightning sort of kicks the can down the road imo without solving much and makes things more complicated. It only gives the illusion of final settlement. Nothing really is until it is on chain. You can be rugged by LN channel hosts or peers. If you run your own active node you can rug yourself by not backing up your latest channel state. Tedious and difficult to use in any sovereign manner especially for casual users that's why over 95% use LN custodially defeating the whole point of Bitcoin's creation.

An exchange? No, There are no US exchanges left for monero that I know of. You'd have to use a swap service (changelly, sideshift) or atomic swaps to move in and out of monero. The only exchange I can think of would be the DEX Bisq.

No, This was me testing from android monerujo to desktop monero gui wallet. It was slow.

And while I agree lightning is/was a kludge its improved dramatically in the last two years. Breez, Phoenix, and now Zeus wallets have taken care of the complexity by keeping it non-custodial and handling the channel back ups. They deal with channel balance, inbound liquidity, and connectivity by being an LSP to your wallets embedded lightning node. This covers the cons you made about it. However yes I see too many people on Wallet of Satoshi. Makes no sense these days.

Don't get me wrong I like Monero but I only use it for experimentation and speculation these days. It's slow like on chain litecoin which is good enough for web stores but not brick and mortar stores with a line of people behind you waiting to pay. It also doesn't have the vendor adoption that BTC has. Last I checked I could count gift card dealers accepting monero on one hand while holding my car keys. And no precious metals dealers that would take it.

However I do like its staying power. Most projects would have collapse by now if they were beaten on by governments the way monero has. Yet it keeps on going.

Yea, no-KYC P2P CEX. You can access them without javascript and thru tor. You can use a true DEX like Bisq if you prefer.

Yea I don't recommend buying from KYC CEXes even if it was possible. But wow I didn't know all US exchanges don't have Monero available anymore. Even Kraken?

Agree Breez and Phoenix are probably the best LN wallets available in terms of UX and self custody (You have to run your own node with Zeus atm). But since you are not running your own active nodes (for Breez and Phoenix at least) it is still not completely trustless and has privacy implications. At least Phoenix is transparent about this on their website.

I know the new upcoming splicing update solves some of the trust and privacy issues on Phoenix, but not completely since you are still not connected to your own node.

Monero's strength is in it's better qualities as digital cash. Cheap tx fees (under 1 cent), real world fungibility, and strong default privacy.

Agree Monero acceptance is not as ubiquitious as Bitcoin on white markets, but there is still quite a lot. People on the outside might just not be aware.

Monero has zero confirmations that usually take 10 to 25 seconds because it uses Dandelion to obfuscate the origin of the transaction like tor.

I certainly don’t. I actually believe in XMR. But, you’re not going to get people to adopt it before bitcoin. Once bitcoin has mass adoption, people will look to transact privately with something else.

Bitcoin is a great savings protocol. But, the main chain will never be able to handle all worldwide transactions.
