In addition to running my private #nostrrelay on my #start9 server, I'm now also running #iris.to there as well. Now I am self hosting the web site I use for my nostr client. Thanks to the #[0] team for making it so easy to do this.

This event is being sent to nostr relays from my selfhosted iris.

I think it's pretty cool, but I'm not sure how much benefit it really gets me in terms of privacy, self sovereignty, etc. Please chime in and tell me what you think!!

The only real benefit to hosting your own iris web app is that the code it runs cannot change without you knowing it. For example, a bug or malicious code deployment could steal private keys on login.

so another benifit is that it is way much faster and pops the notes up quick. The other lags a bit and I have to wait for new posts to finally pop up to view. this feels like the old social media apps we used to use

okay that took me about 2 min to set up ... man Start9 is the BOMB

#[2] - don't let it go to your head!!!!

You are great, but we need you to deliver your improved networking as soon as you can.

One downside I found was that I can't upload images with my self hosted iris - maybe some issue connecting from my #start9 #homeserver to the nostr.build site?

found that too

Running it all your self would also make it hard to be "canceled".

I'm loading it now!!!! didn't know it was available
