When you want your note to contain media, you need to upload it and then link to it in your note.

Notes are text only to keep relay data low.

Amethyst does for you on your behalf semi automatically & transparently. It makes it easy. The note will still exist even if the media is removed from the server though.

Sometimes uploading a large vid takes a while & times out.
