basic use cases:

have an always on vpn

...and

access synology nas apps, or any other local server apps/sites you have on your phone

have an always on vpn but one browser app that is naked for merchant purchases to stay protected and prevent the vpn from flagging card services etc. (can be used in conjunction with profiles on #grapheneos)

...etc. etc. it's good stuff πŸ’œ

just be mindful that can't use ”block connections without vpn" with this method, so be mindful of ip leaks, but it's so much better than having a few apps/urls/purchases prevent you from keeping your mobile vpn connected πŸ’œ

The "block connections" setting avoids accidental leaks, which may be crucial. Consider that if you set up a work profile or secondary user account, that will need its own vpn. So you can also separate select apps that way, if these few are special in a way.

May get a cheaper pixel (6) being a first time android user using Apple since the 3GS 😬

Why did you change?

Becoming more aware of my privacy, used a lot of jailbroken devices since the (redsn0w) days, tho the misconception is that it’s unsafe, in reality aside from themes and modded apps you had control of your device, location how things were backed up etc I could go on lol, we haven’t a solid jailbreak since iOS 14, the community is dying next year I’ll experiment backing up to my private cloud

good stuff. just make sure it's google unlocked, not just carrier unlocked
