I'm certainly open to the possilbities, but so far no one has achieved it. Germany tried, and ended up having to flip their coal fired plants back on.
If your solution is to reccommend things which sound nice, but fail in practise, you're going to have to work harder in terms of coming up with better solutions.
My elderly friends and family aren't going to freeze to death off the back of nice sounding but poorly thought through ideas.
It's also completely unacceptable to hand-wave away the myriad externalities of so-called renewables....
Why should I believe that strip mining lithium is somehow better for the planet than burning a few wind fallen ash trees?
When you realise that nature is a self contained system, all of a sudden the process of 'burning shit for power' starts to look rather elegant in it's simplicity and design...
