I'm using Amethyst. First time I've heard of paid relays. Do you pay per post/interaction?
Yeah a few of the big ones you have to pay for 'network time' and they will publish your notes to their relay.
If you dont pay, you can read the relay but you cant post to it. The going rate seems to be 10k sats per month. Which feels steep, but I guess given the real world energy the data servers cost, is probably fair...
Primal on mobile, gossip on desktop, sometimes primal via browser. I've heard good things about nostr.wine for paid relay.

just one small perk they'll probably fix: zapping is so easy I keep zapping by mistake, but that's easy to fix with a confirmation prompt

Primal should be the way to go but not available on Apple (only in beta)
I was able to download from the primal website last night…a work around from the App Store (again if you have iPhone) and you can merge your NOSTR account

Using Damus and checking out Primal. Just listened to a podcast about NOSTR relays and it seems a bit premature to pay for relays. These guys were promoting the use of “shitposting” the way to the top which I believe they were meaning, generate more content, even basic stuff like memes, to up your visibility. 🤷♂️
