I think this was the hook for me as well.
Because I was already into “crypto” at that point but thought bitcoin was too slow and couldn’t scale.
I was looking for investment options, like some stocks, and saw Raoul Paul(yeah Rug Paul) that I didn't knew at the time saying if he had only one option it would be Bitcoin. That made me realise that maybe Bitcoin wasn't some sort of meme internet thing. Then I fell into the rabbit hole.
How does Rug Paul pull it off?
Is it because he grounds himself to bitcoin so often? While peddling the shittiest of tokens with his other hand
I didn't want my savings devalued to fund mass murder or to line the pockets of some of the worst people on the planet.

It's a shame that he claims to be a maxi, but he still owns a sizeable chunk of ETH because he doesn't consider it a shitcoin.

I kept on hearing about bitcoin back in 2012-2013 but didn't know much about it. I tried researching it more, and every time I did, I became more and more in awe of it.
In 2014, I had some extra cash as a result of a liquidated project, so I decided to put it all in bitcoin.
I knew it was very risky to do so at the time, but I was determined not to miss out on it (my first bitcoin FOMO).
The rest is history.
