My site is being worked on right now. I haven’t been actively working with maitake but since you’re asking, I’ll start.
i tried it once long ago and got a few fruitings on buried logs
but surely there must be a better way

A supplemented sawdust bag growing indoors will get you fruits a lot faster and more consistently. Just need a small fruiting chamber.
