Man didn’t create that belief. You are under an authority outside of man - either the ruler of this world’s authority, Satan, or you’ve been liberated through baptism into Christ, and therefore under His authority. Men lording over other men has simply existed since man’s original sin of rejecting God’s authority over him back in the Garden of Eden.
