I’d like to know as well. 👍

I kind if feel like what’s the point of buying this awesome secure device if I’m just going to slap my personal info all over it through ordering it online and leaving a huge trail behind. Now the banks and whoever processes the payment know I have BTC held in a ColdCard? Weird to me. I only realized this once I finally decided to order. 😕

I know my problem isn’t the end of the world, but I want to start my bitcoin journey the right way from the start. Don’t want to have to keep adjusting mistakes that can be avoided.

I agree entirely. Someone needs to buy Coldcards by the pallet and sell them for Sats no personal details required. Interest? Pricing point suggestions?

How about using po box?

You can pay in btc for your coldcard..

I just have to say here that BTC is not inherently anonymous in any way. If you want anonymity you have to intentionally use obfuscating technologies.

Ya bitcoin isn’t really private at all. Monero maybe.

Yep, ZCash too. Outside of that, nope.

True. Right now even if it was private to purchase with bitcoin I probably wouldn’t anyways for large amounts. I need to stack! I feel i have so little as it is. Cant be spending it. I spend fiat!

If you want a _stacking_ wallet only (you don't plan to spend btc from this wallet for a decade), you can flip a coin 256 times or roll a dice, do some math to generate your seed.

Then import your extended public key to watch-only blue wallet (preferably connected to your own node).

That's all you need.

And stack

Wow that just exploded my brain. So cool! Is it an issue if BlueWallet isnt around in the future?

If blue wallet disappears in the future, it is not an issue at all. If you still have your 12 (or 24) words and keep them safe, you're always in the possession of your Bitcoin.

Your Bitcoin is your 12 (24) words.

You can import them to any bip39 compatible wallet to interact (sign your transactions) with the Bitcoin network.

Another watch only wallet is e.g. sentinel by Samourai.

This might be what i move my stack to for long term storage. I have heard of Sentinel but never understood it. I’m interested now. What I liked about it is its available on F-Droid.

Please 🙏, first make sure that you know what you're doing.

Test the restore procedures in order not to lose your funds.

Thank you. Just finished watching the video. I will have to rewatch a few times before I give it a try. I’m pretty slow with learning this Bitcoin/wallet stuff. Scary to make a mistake. Ill have to transfer my funds from Muun and Alby over to it. Lots to figure out.

Thank you for the guidance! 💜🫂

PO box is a good idea. Post office will still have record though. Bitcoin isn’t private for purchases.

The Bitcoin Conference

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately I’m not going to do all that just to buy the device. 😂

You could ask someone who’s going, maybe

Good idea if I knew someone locally that was going. Hmm

Some people here are going, not me though. Just an idea.

Its an excellent idea. Im not familiar enough with anyone here that i could ask unfortunately. One day!

Yeah, I know.

I think they're made in Canada. Go to the source?

I wonder if this is possible. I’ll try to look into it. Great idea!
