π¨π³ CHINA BUILT A ROBOT WITH A HUMAN BRAIN
Chinese scientists grew a cerebral organoid β a mini brain made from human stem cells β and connected it to a robot.
Not just for show: the brainlet controls physical movement, dodges obstacles, grabs objects, and even shows signs of synaptic plasticity β meaning it can learn and adapt based on experience.
They embedded it into a brain-on-chip system, combining neural tissue with silicon circuitry β essentially a hybrid bio-digital processor.
This could revolutionize neuroscience, drug testing, and AI development.
But it also drags us straight into Blade Runner territory: machines that donβt simulate thought, but actually have it.
The ethical red flags are everywhere:
What counts as consciousness?
Whereβs the line between tool and entity?
Are we growing minds to serve machines?
Cool? Yes.
Chilling? Also yes.
