Maybe Damus Mail is a better name than the Notebook? I still prefer mail to be nostr based with an email bridge though. Looks like X is getting a mail client too.

Someone made this interesting observation which sounds a lot like the design i was thinking about for our mail client.

We could use nip05 as nostr mail addresses, although it would be optional if you have their nprofile. This would be way easier than setting up mail on some domain, and they can be end to end encrypted with nip17.

have you heard about Lightning Domains?

NIP05 + LUD16 + BIP353 + E-mail

we are building a standard fo these kind of services and provide a proper protocol so we can interoperate.

I'm starting to implement them so everybody could deploy their own, just redirect their their .well-known directory.

The goal is to turn every domain into a Lightning Domain.

Iā€™m tinkering on something similar, but am trying to architect it just using Nostr only so no DB. Still will have to use a token from the registrar to set DNS records and the email part is not on my scope.
