I have a 200w system hooked up to an old car battery.
Looking to create a system with maybe 1000w solar + 100-200ah batteries.
Stick with 48vdc. Best overall price.

No, the inverter and batteries need to be/support 48vdc. It's easier/more efficient to get to 120vac from 48v than it is from 12v.
