Are you a Bitcoin wallet user? Earn sats by sharing your thoughts about Bitcoin wallets while adding to a censorship resistant web-of-trust searchable rating on nostr!

Are you a Bitcoin wallet provider? Please also share your thoughts about your own product and other products. Invite your happy users to leave their reviews, too.

Do you have a website discussing Bitcoin wallets? Integrate those opinions yourself, too.

We are actively developing this https://gitlab.com/walletscrutiny/nostr-opinion-plugin and it allows you to invite visitors on your website to leave opinions and discuss those on your website but also across nostr social in a seamless way. The way this works is with nostr nip23 long-form posts as "opinions" with threaded replies for each of those. On your website you control which users are approved and what each post's header, footer and hashtags look like as to give nostr-social users the right context.

Contributions to the plugin are highly welcome. For WalletScrutiny the idea is to expand it a bit in the area of additional formal data in the shape of tags. Currently we added only a 3-state sentiment: bad/neutral/good but we have ideas how to further add more things that should be configurable depending on the domain of the user of the plugin. But also the visitor to the website should be able to modify header, footer and hashtags etc.

You can find Wallet-opinions and their zaps for example on https://habla.news/t/WalletScrutiny

To leave your own opinions on Wallets, head over to WalletScrutiny.com and find your wallet there. I'm currently zapping 5000sat for all serious opinions. nostr:npub1mtd7s63xd85ykv09p7y8wvg754jpsfpplxknh5xr0pu938zf86fqygqxas already collected the reward 10 times.

14 quality opinions zapped. We'll keep going ...

how do add new wallet?

New wallets are currently added via the git repository linked in the website footer. Note that we do not yet support desktop wallets but plan to have those rely more on nostr as ... it's complicated.

ok thank you - if we can add phoenixd - new portable terminal wallet - then will add review n comments

ELECTRUM Wallet is my favorite

Non-custodial wallet.

It is one of the oldest and most reliable wallets

The only thing i do not like about it is :

It is hard to setup lightning

We need atomic zaps somehow. A proof of payment in a way.

I've been zapping in the context of this commitment: nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzq3huhccxt6h34eupz3jeynjgjgek8lel2f4adaea0svyk94a3njdqqs09c0sn20202g0hv35wzf44smcrue088zmyayvtq00mz95jf6ftjctquxnu

and had various failures:

* I forgot to login before zapping and while habla.news did allow me to leave a message, the zap ended up a lightning payment only. This should not randomly just happen.

* I was logged in but the recipient did not show as zapped even though I had paid but later the zap did reach me

I think we need some proof of payment to maybe even retroactively turn it into a zap.

People think, Alice is sending sats aka zaps to Bob but it's actually Bob who's sending the zap event after Alice sent the sats and that's where things can go very wrong as nostr has no consistency guarantees but of the last 15 zaps I sent, 4 had issues. If we can't fix that with some crypto voodoo, we should at least find out how to bring that number closer to 1/1000.

Thanks, Leo, for the zap โšก

My main LN custodial wallet is a PWA called LaWallet (made by nostr:npub1rujdpkd8mwezrvpqd2rx2zphfaztqrtsfg6w3vdnljdghs2q8qrqtt9u68 guys).

Keep this in mind to extend the review offer to applications that are not installed from a store.

I've been to Buenos Aires recently and tried that PWA but PWAs are yet another challenge to audit. We have to dig into that. So far I cannot provide any attestations to stuff you run being legit in any meaningful way.

Open source PWAs are auditable the same way you would build software.

Lawallet monorepo can be deployed and self-hosted with one click.

ONE-CLICK deploy. Vercel / Netlify or your self hosted solution.

https://github.com/lawalletio/la-wallet-monorepo

Hmm, ... that one-click deploy is nice but clearly depends on vercel in this case. The link you provided though does not provide a one-click deployment of a wallet. They forgot to update that vercel link.

For a PWA I would expect some installation from a signed zip file or at least some way to have signed bundles from a website that are guaranteed to require your consent to update. We have to dig into that.

This offer still stands but I have to be a bit more selective ...

Very few joined and posted several opinions each. While that is very much welcome if you are very familiar with multiple products, I'm waiting for somebody testing my zaps with an LLM thrown at the problem.

Therefore: Please provide quality opinions that show you are very familiar with the product.

I primarily hope to see opinions about hardware wallets as we have no good metrics to sort those within one verdict. We will soon launch desktop wallets section. That will have the same problem.

Higher verdicts (self custodial or better) are more relevant than lower ones. For example I probably won't zap opinions about defunct products.
