Such a shame. I really don't want to break a perfectly good laptop. I could just buy windows and reinstall it but then I have to pay for windows when I could just get a new laptop for free

What I do is I always look on YouTube how to disassemble that particular model of laptop. Most times they have it. They you can patiently take it apart and fix it, that's if you can fix it because it might be and embedded chip that you can't fix.

I've never bought windows before. I just export the key from the old computer and put it in the new laptop. You can download windows from Microsoft. I've done it for many people, for my own laptops I just use Linux.

What is wrong with it, that you need to take it apart. If it's just bitlocker, can't you just reformat it?

If you can't find the keys. The laptop is still good. You will just have the reformat the hard drive. That means you will need to install windows on a USB drive then go into the bios and make the laptop boot from the USB or press they boot key during boot in order for it to boot from the USB. Then it just wipes the hard drive and reinstalls windows. It's a bit complicated, maybe ask a computer friend to help you, but the laptop is still good.
