Title “senior software developer” doesn’t mean anything today.

Business wants a lot of simple software products.

Business doesn’t want to pay for complex engineering solutions.

Definitions of a “true engineer” changed a lot and those who acquired it in the past don’t like it — it’s a very good thing today our software doesn’t have to deal with 250 different driver. Its a good thing today “cross browser compatibility” almost does not exist.

It does not mean an engineer who knows how to fix cross browser issues is senior and one who believes browsers mostly interoperable — is not.

Astute observations, Viktor. Thanks.
