PureOS is decent, however it's basically just Debian. Their additions and contributions are in many other distros as well.

Interesting. Have been using System76 backed Pop-OS, but Ubuntu bothers me as an unstable business unmanaged by the founder.

Yeah, Ubuntu was pretty good for awhile and pushed things forward. I can't remember the specific change, but I ended up wanting to make far too many changes from the default I switched backed to Debian and closer distros for most installs.
Is Pop-OS based on Ubuntu?
