It’s interesting. I had New Yorker and Long Island friends who grew up in both places visit me in Scottsdale and Newport Beach. Not one of them wanted to go back to NYC. They had very been to either place and couldn’t believe how much better everything was. One of my friends ended up moving from NYC to Scottsdale after the trip to visit me and said they would never move back to NYC or Long Island.

If it’s a good financial service or app it’s most likely banned in the state of New York. And in most cases, especially on Reddit, those New York residents will complain blaming the company instead of their state government. 🥴

I was grandfathered into Swan Bitcoin before they shut off access to NY residents.
I think it was a Prime Trust custodian thing.
I just wanted some clarity on CashApp because if they have to apply for ANOTHER Bitlicense for lightning services that’s beyond ridiculous, but I wouldn’t be shocked.

NYC was great in the 2000s and our commie mayor DeBlasio was so incompetent pre-Covid that 2014-2019 wasn’t bad.
I agree there is a price/quality of life gross mismatch.
I was in San Diego last week and it did give me some perspective and stuff to think about in general.
My new job is 100% remote so I don’t know what the future brings with that.
