I don't agree with that definition of effort and that as we get older, we can project less and less energy into the production of value.

Hey, so you think that you have the same energy to work when you’re 22 and 82?

So are you only talking about physical strength as energy in this sense?

I’m talking about your vital energy.

What came to mind when you read what I wrote?

Well, I'm thinking the older we get, the more knowledge and life experience we have, the more wisdom we also have, the more value we can provide.

I agree that those are valuable things. And I don’t discount them.

But if you’re too old you’ll need somebody else energy to put that knowledge and experience into action.

I think we weren't talking about the same thing by saying "energy" and "value".

I need to keep thinking about this to find a better word than “value”.
