She's producing somewhere in the vicinity of 20L per day, increasing to 60L in the next few weeks.

We're starting with 5L a day, which is more than enough for our consumption, plus extra for experimenting with all things dairy.

The calf gets everything she needs and more.

We're mainly doing it to relieve the strain on the udder at this stage.

20L per day sounds great, I never knew a Jersey could produce 60L per day, that's amazing! We're getting 13L per day now, 37 months post-calving.

WTF!? Let her have a rest FFS 😂

I think we were at approx 36 months when Nina was going us about 5L a day at the end. She was pouring all her energy into the calf and production slowed right down. We gave her a full 6 months of dry time pre calving. I thought we'd just leave the calf all the milk but her udder is absurdly engorged. We are mostly milking for her comfort.
