Do you mean you lost physical docs or did a laptop blow up and you never backed it up prior?
This is shit I think about a lot and know disaster is always close.

It’s a bad scene.
It’s not 100% gone yet but it does not look promising.
It was data on an external hard drive that was working Friday night when I went to bed.
And when I woke up Saturday morning it was no longer there.
Big loss including an edit I worked on for 3 days last week. 😬
