That's pretty cool. What does everyone else think? Still not gonna use it.

its a non zero sum game for us.

anything that goes to mastodon can end up here. so we get their feed without needing to be there.

Yeah, I don't know how all that works.

I would guess they would allow threads to die before allowing that type of openness. It seems like a positive move.

Is Gab part of Mastodon? That would be weird to have people subscribing to Gab accounts using Threads.

sorry for making the confusion. fediverse and mastodon are technically different.

mastodon is a social media made based on the fediverse technology.

likewise, gab and all the other instances are made using fediverse. if they are built using fediverse, that means you can use fediverse client to access it, like tusky.

Nostr is not built using fediverse. but it is fediverse compatible. that is why you cant use nostr on a fediverse client (like tusky) but you can talk to fediverse people on amethyst or damus. this is made possible by the mostr bridge by @alex gleason. because nostr is not fediverse but only fediverse-compatible, there are some restriction to what it can achieve on fediverse. example, your id name on fediverse will look weird. and you cant actually block people. but the strength is, you get benefits like can talk to people from the other side & censorship resistant that nostr has.

threads will be like nostr, they are not fediverse built but only fediverse compatible. they company can decide unilateral policies on its users. i checked and saw some threads account can already be accessed on fediverse, but not all. probably it will only be one way, fediverse people can see their post, but i doubt you can actually interact with them, for now.
