Protonmail cooperated with a lot of legal requests last year.
They also admitted to something about their VPN. Can't remember details. Will try and find article.
They leak customer data to the MSM among other things. They once confirmed for a Reuters reporter the time the letter was sent. Although it was implied before that they don't talk to the press, only to the authorities.
I definitely do not recommend using Proton. I myself have been a customer for several years and have nothing good to say about them.
