This weekend I processed 4 bantam roosters. They are small so I don't pluck just debreast and pull the leg quarters.

This is what chicken looks like. IDK what that shit is they sell in the grocery but it isn't chicken. Look at the color of this stuff. The taste is unlike any chicken you have had.

What does one of those breasts weigh? We’ve never raised bantams

Not much may be 2 oz per side so 4oz per bird. I really hate killing them for so little yield but I keep bantams to incubate ducklings. When they sneak away and do their own eggs we end up with roosters in surplus.

I only have like 7 hens and ended up with 5 roosters it was chaos. I am thinking of going to Bresse Chickens

I'm actually pondering the wisdom of getting a few bantams. I brooded a few bantams once and kept a rooster with my full size hens. He did an awesome job and was easier on the hens. We called him Little King. We had to let him go when we moved, I think we gave him to someone who had a cow for fly control duty.
