That’s a good point. But with scale I am not sure it’ll persist. If for example this not got 1000 replies, it’s hard to imagine that people would read or reply to all of them 🐶🐾🫂

5billion netizens - 500million max uses one social media - even if most popular npub has 1million followers - will then person time to read / reply
lets focus average typical numbers say 100 to 10K followers + following - can relay manament handle that ? #nostr scalability - maybe yes - thats good enough
nostr unless u r using FILTERED relays or centralized APP service - picking n grooming ur relays - u will get regular engagements MUCH MORE including ai bots which u can block/mute
I'm surprised filtering by top comment isn't a thing yet. On Reddit it seems to reduce interaction with new comments a lot so in that way Amethyst handles replies better than Reddit. But I think the lure will come at some point. Filtering by top comment gives the feeling of getting more social value more efficiently than reading every reply and deciding what's valuable yourself.
AI solves the spam problem, it's a perfect application for that otherwise stupid technology.
Open anonymous registration plus subscribable decentralized anti-spam AI nodes. Winner combo.
Until the same AI is used to creat that spam. The field is level 🐶🐾🫡
The spammer would end up not selling his/her idea in order to effectively circumvent the good AI filters.
Because the AI is not blocking an identity, it's detecting a specific topic, writing style and behavior. Spam would become the death of any product spammers try to sell, therefore no incentive to keep going.
I mean, this has been tried before and it works. Not a new idea.
It's cat and mouse. It's dog and fishcake.
