Use a Relay bouncer like wss://relay.poster.place, it will save you data on any nostr client . Let the server do all the work instead of your phone! Basically, turn off all your existing relays and only use that one so your phone don't process everything from multiple relays

Thanks for taking the time to know how all this stuff works and to comment me! You sound quite authoritative, but let's see what nostr:npub1m4ny6hjqzepn4rxknuq94c2gpqzr29ufkkw7ttcxyak7v43n6vvsajc2jl has to say!
Also, my default client on Android is Primal, that comes with a caching service, does that help at all?
No. A bouncer is better because you only need one relay instead of many. Each relay you use has uses bandwith and computing power
Thanks, I have added your bouncer to my Primal. Does it generally take a while after adding before it turns green?
So Primal is terrible at connecting to relays... you should reload the page if relays show as red.
Reloading isn't sorting it, if you mean dragging down from the top of the screen. But is Primal known to be bad at connecting to relays and what are better clients in this regard? Although I haven't found Primal on Android to be too data-hungry.
all nostr clients will be data hungry, Nostr makes the clients, your phone, do all the work that servers are supposed to do for you. A relay bouncer as your only relay will reduce your data usage resulting in better battery life
Each relay you have enabled results in constant download and processing of all the events over and over
I'm sold on at least trying your bouncer. But on Android, I couldn't get Primal nor Coracle to add the bouncer. But nostrudel seems to have added it immediately, and allowed me to easily find the relay via search.
Coracle works for me. Are you using TOR/VPN by any chance? It may be Cloudflare blocking you

I have VPN. Also, I just reinstalled Amethyst and it was obvious from loosing at the default relay settings why it was so heavy in data. But also it was really simple to delete the defaults and just use poster place.
I've turned off VPN and now Coracle works for me too, thanks for your help!
