I feel one aspect of this is the universal need to narrow down parameters, otherwise it is difficult to get people on the same page. However, personally, I feel like I am "crypto-homeless", as whereas "crypto" spaces lack focus, Bitcoin spaces are too tightly demarcated to allow for new developments in the bona fide financial freedom tech stack.

I feel people are not interested in going with whatever is the best way to build the financial freedom tech stack. Only #Bitcoin + L2 solutions can be countenanced on #AskNostr, it seems.

IMO, the financial freedom tech stack could conceivably be best implemented via Bitcoin + one judiciously chosen L1. The additional L1 would suggest itself in terms of rigorous technological criteria. Are you here for this conversation? (Which would seem reasonable, based on the headaches and trade-offs entailed by Bitcoin + Layer 2 solutions.)

Agreed. But also what happens to my sats when I pay with them? Are they being recycled in the circular economy, hodled or immediately exchanged for fiat?

Fair enough, I am sure this is prevalent. But define "not getting it"? If I am committed and positive about the financial freedom tech stack, with Bitcoin as a major part of that, but not the only part, am I not "getting it"? To me, "Bitcoin only" feels like another limiting belief. #AskNostr

nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr are you interested in helping me troubleshoot #Primal on Windows desktop? I can no longer post, reply, unfollow. Also, I already have #nos2x and other nsec signers installed and permissions granted. Thanks!

I'm not finding Nostr straightforward right now. On Windows desktop, I can't post, reply etc in #Primal. Whereas I can post from Nostrudel and Coracle, but I can't see how to @ from them. #AskNostr

The Bitcoin space may not even need to build xyz. The functionality in question may already exist outside the space, thus presenting the #Bitcoin space with fait accompli. Therefore a useful complementary maxim might be: "The freedom to fail is the freedom to explore." #AskNostr

Well said. It feels really uncomfortable to me that I can have tech devices running four different OSs and no-one is haranguing me for that. Meanwhile, there is a lot of talk on #Nostr about freedom and anti-authoritarianism, but the #Bitcoin maxi groupthink is strictly complied with and reinforced.

I think you are right it is easier just to buy #Bitcoin and preach to the #Nostr choir. Personally, the braver path seems to be staying open to the potential for an erstwhile shitcoin to be integrated into the Bitcoin space as an integral component of the financial freedom tech stack, which is what I am into. Meanwhile, much of contemporary Bitcoin has become untethered to financial freedom. Are you a maxi for everything branded Bitcoin, or a maxi for financial freedom? #AskNostr

That's no problem, and indeed we are standing on firmer ground when we acknowledge we don't know the whole picture. But we can still talk, and acknowledge the possibility of psy-ops, manufactured consent etc. Also, the officially-announced election result in Venezuela is much more open to challenge by US observers, whereas the US result is sacrosanct and those challenging it are insurrectionists!

What is the figure, 87% of people who hold #Bitcoin also hold other cryptos? Have I got that right? #AskNostr

Interesting take. I note Roger Waters, who is someone I have come to trust, has come out strongly in support of Maduro.

If we are talking about forceful revolution, then the main thing is that they are largely *unarmed* peasants. So non-violent means suggest themselves.
