Ok I'm slightly less than half way and the split diopter made me praise to think about the style here.

So far I kind of really like this movie. I'm not sure I liked the reboot so much, but the reboot prepared me for this one. There's so far 0 absolutely 0 comedy it's all modern horror gore. I do miss the context but I haven't thought about it until now.

What I HAVE been missing but this shot seems like at least it's trying is the Raimi-esque visuals and pacing. I guess that goes with the comedy but vibe in. Closeups, dutch angles, where are they? There was the drone shot on the beginning but that was played off like those days are over... Even though that's kind of what made this franchise and even the reboot had homages to the style with endearment.

This split diopter is really cool. Her extreme closeup face in focus at the same time the family in the back is.

But.
