Had a lot of discussions on housing in Memphis with my brother yesterday, and he kept using the term "slumlord". He said that there should be regulations and limits to the number of properties that an investor should be able to buy, meaning a limit to property rightfully and peacefully acquired 😵‍💫 (this discussion was also related to immigration and he used my late father's house as an example, because it was bought by an investor and is being rented to immigrants. Fortunately my dad's old house is being kept in great condition so it's not a slum). I explained that the poverty of renters is not the investors fault, and that the State doesn't fix problems, only causes them.
