Remember when NASA signed a contract with Nikon, then the very next day axed their P1000 model, which was the longest-range digital zoom camera ever made available to the civilian market?

Why would NASA do this?

Could it have something to do with the fact that people all over the internet were using this camera to post videos zooming into both the Sun and Moon, getting extremely detailed imagery of both, despite the camera only having a 58-mile (125x) zoom?

These videos led many people to start asking questions about whether these celestial bodies are really 93 million and 238 thousand miles away respectively (and by infinitesimally small chance happen to be the perfect size difference to appear the same size in our sky)

...Or, if perhaps the Sun and Moon are much closer to us, and identical in distance and size just as they appear?

A very peculiar turn of events—and set of questions to be asked—indeed...
