A snow storm is coming, outstanding chores must be done

Since I spent most of the day before fiddling with the tractor I didn't get any of the chores knocked off my list. Started the day off with an unsuccessful magic tractor dance, put on the battery charger and fired up the 95 Chevy to move another months worth of firewood to the house. 2 is one; 1 is none.

By now the tractor was willing to start so I insulated the chicken coop with some straw. The storm is supposed to be windy so a little wind break will help the chickens stay comfortable. When the storm passes, the straw will be spread out to form a fresh bed of carbon in their paddock.

The last of the chores were getting the next hay bale into position for the horses and topping the sheep off with hay too. I wanted to move and stack the remaining hay bales but the tractor troubles continue... It seems like too much moisture got into the dashboard and caused a short, which lead to a small electrical fire... At this point I had enough and will see what I can come up with to keep the tractor functional another day.

What client do you use? Love your work.

Thanks! I'm enjoying sharing and experimenting with Nostr. As far as clients go, I haven't done much playing around. I only use amethyst at the moment.

Just did some of the same. Got enough on the porch to last 2 -3 weeks. Most likely 2.

Please ignore the fact I haven't removed the AC unit yet. It's on a very long list that I'm rapidly losing ground with.

We had another storm drop about 3 inches today with more in the forecast and ridiculously low temps. Hence my 2 week estimation. At least the rest of the pile isn't too far away.

Where you located, if you don't mind me asking?

Heating with wood isn't free, but it's worth it to me. Sometimes I enjoy the process, sometimes it's a pain in the ass... This year, I've been lucky. It's been warm and good network conditions to heat with Bitcoin miners. I'm in SW Michigan. Now zone 6 according to the new climate zone map.

I'm out in eastern Washington. Our wood heat is mostly supplemental until the power goes out. And it will.

Topping off the firewood stack at the house

Topped off my firewood stack at the house a few days ago. It would be nice if those high transaction fees would return so I could use less wood and more asic heat. Finally got the tractor starting consistently. Needs new batteries, but I think I'll limp through the rest of the winter and get batteries when I need the tractor more in the spring.
