Is this preventing people from getting out of fiat? I believe it does.

it’s literally the opposite. droves of crypto people are learning to use Bitcoin for the first time.

Exactly, remember nothing hurts ₿itcoin. The monetary singularity is functioning precisely as designed. Incentives matter. Greed is being harnessed and redirected. Education is happening as a byproduct. Game theory is at work. It’s beautiful.

We’re in it now, so we’ll see. I can also see it preventing people who haven’t bought crypto or bitcoin ever from being deterred and using alt solutions / not getting on.

Sure, but there is always a fee. We’re facing an existing tradeoff „sooner“ than some hoped, altho important to point out high fees have occurred dozens of times over the years. I hope it spurs people to take their self custody seriously while they can afford it, and to hasten engineering on LN and other solutions :)

We get to psychologically Trojan horse crypto — at the expense of normies. I pick the normies so I’ll spend my time defending on/off ramps.

We’re all free to focus on we want and that’s beautiful.

Normies will do normie things on rhe normie timeline.

Wise words.

Agreed. If something can be commoditized, it probably will. Deal with it.

The same people taking that position are the same people always talking hyperbitcoinization. What in the world do they would happen if billions of people used Bitcoin 24x7x365? Individuals aren't touching the base layer if that happens.
