Admittedly I need to create more video and audio content.

I tend to gravitate to what comes natural to me (writing) even though I spent most my life performing on stage.

Also find it hard to collect longer thoughts into longer form content without adding unnecessary fluff.

I guess I’m at a maturity where I realize there is a ton of useless content (and stuff and things) out there already…I don’t want to add to the noise.

I want to simplify. Which often means if I don’t have anything to say…then I don’t.

And if I can say it is less words…I will.

To my question 🤦‍♂️

Do you have any resources on “getting started” with longer form audio and video other than a mantra I’m trying to follow of “just press record”.

And I’m asking more for the “content” side than the technical side of that makes sense.

Whenever I record content, I'm usually flying by the seat of my pants, rarely ever writing (for my podcast I need to get onto Fountain or Wavlake potentially). I'd be happy to help with some aspects not the process, having done some part of it for three years now.

Probably my issue is getting out of my own way!

I’m pretty knowledgeable and business people and leaders come to me for advice…so “expertise” isn’t the issue…

Part of me thinks it might be the hurdle of “it’s 25 steps to do it with excellence”

I don’t think it’s imposter syndrome… to a potential fault I rarely care what others think of me except for a few key people

And I don’t think it’s a perfectionism issue as I’ve shipped plenty that isn’t perfect (I even have a video teaching I did on what I term the Perfection Paradox)

When push comes to shove I’m inspired by excellence, and so I want to ensure what I put out there is excellent (not perfect) and more importantly of value!

I guess perhaps that’s where I’m stuck…wanting to ensure I’m not talking for the sake of talking, rather that I’m having meaningful conversations that connect.

…thoughts?!

I see that as really being driven by humility and a desire to help, which is what I'm also driven by in terms of the tech and gaming side of things (specifically with GNU/Linux), but that's besides the point.
