In my almost 3 weeks in the US, here's my unsolicited experience so far:

-Shooting guns are crazy fun, it was the first time my wife and I did so.

-You can find dirt cheap deals on clothes in a shop like Burlington.

-I'm surprised at how much decent quality things people throw out of their homes or sell at a garage sale.

-There is a huge amount of variety of food and drinks at stores but prices are at least twice as high than in Mexico.

-Traffic is insane between Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte.

-Sometimes it feels like I never left Latin america, so many Latinos everywhere.

-Gasoline is cheaper in the US than in Mexico.

-There seems to be so much available work everywhere, especially for truck drivers.

-Middle income america and middle income mexico have huuge differences.

-People don't look at us funny when I mention we homeschool.

Let's hang my dude!

Hope you’ve enjoyed Nashville. Get a chance to drop by nostr:npub1theparkprcs70dcs437ke9zzwsr6u60f8flu7rg28m30438aep9sd94dha?

I haven't! I'm told it's largely empty unless there's a planned event and I couldn't go to their previous event on June 10th.

I'm a member. There are usually at least half a dozen members around on a given day. If you plan to visit, shoot me a DM.

Ohh in that case, hell yeah! I'll send a DM if I go to Nashville next week or the one after that.

Love this perspective. We need more based doctors in the U.S!

our medical bureaucracy is terrible though. Centralized medicine rules here and squashes dissent

I think the internet helps with this, you can consult with based docs not in the US and for a lower price, as is my case. The tradeoff is that in person consultations are much better.

#3 - I live a 2 hour drive to the border. I’m sure with the garage sale experience you could understand how many Mexicans load up the beds of their trucks / trailers and drive garage sale items down to sell in Mexico.

Lots of appliances, bikes, tv’s, clothes, etc.

My neighbor across the strip makes the trip about twice a month for extra income.

Uff yes, it looks like a good side hustle, the arbitrage gains can be very good.

You working as a MD in the US?

No, I'm just vacationing. Luckily I work online so I can take longer vacations than most.

💪

What remains on the itinerary?

We're kind of improvising and visiting between friends and family. My last two weeks will most likely be in Atlanta and a few trips to Nashville, but I do plan to visit Bitcoin park.

💪

Try southern barbeque if you haven’t already! You also might find a live bluegrass concert - to me this is the genuine local music

nostr:npub1clk6vc9xhjp8q5cws262wuf2eh4zuvwupft03hy4ttqqnm7e0jrq3upup9 might know places in nashville

Lots!

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep a lookout.

US is the best and the worst country at the same time.

• Best and worst food

• Best and worst healthcare

Huge duality

I'm understanding that now.

You're homeschooling your kids?? It's awesome, didn't know that, when an episode on homeschooling? 😁

More like my wife is haha, my support is merely economical and moral, although I do love to teach them a bit about economics and bitcoin on my free time.

And good recommendation, I've been thinking about it for a while. @nostr:npub1q3r28wytn2ff90lvrvf9qvsu72uuvl7lpcpfjs46gdfqmvdgcu0q9s6amn @nostr:npub19jkuyl0wgrj8kccqzh2vnseeql9v98ptrx407ca9qjsrr4x5j9tsnxx0q6 @nostr:npub1lrnvvs6z78s9yjqxxr38uyqkmn34lsaxznnqgd877j4z2qej3j5s09qnw5 would any of you be interested in having a homeschooling round table conversation with nostr:nprofile1qqsqpnxjn3vzu04nux9x2n8ywhyn89f9axs9dj5gevu9ytm0qjfk5ccc7deh9 on my podcast?

Absolutely! Happy to!

Awesome! I'll tell my wife to get in touch!

Great! A month ago I started a course called "Guia Montessori para niños de 3 a 6 años", and I plan to continue with other courses. If there is no alternative you just can learn/build things ✊

My wife is not totally convinced with homeschooling but I will do my best for our kids 🫶

I already follow Scott and Tali "Bitcoin Homeschoolers" podcast, great show, love it.

It's a great podcast! My wife is a part of Tali's book club as well, maybe your wife can consider giving it a try.

After speaking with nostr:nprofile1qqsv0mdxvznteqns2v8g9d98wy4vm63wx8wq54hcmj244sqfalvhepsprdmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucnfw33k76twwpshy6ewvdhk6qg4waehxw309amk7apwdehhxarj9ecxzun50yqjxamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwd5xzamw09jkzem9wghxxmmd9ac8y6tkv96x287mctc today, we found out both our wives never thought they'd ever consider homeschooling but now they can't imagine not doing it.

Nice, that's a good advice, will tell her about Tali's book club.
