Over dinner I've been thinking "what if" we were to create a platform similar to Amazon but for Bitcoin products and merchants with shipping centres in the US, EU and Asia? I know, we have "online stores" for Bitcoin products but that's not the same. For example, me ordering from nostr:npub1uzt238htjzpq39dxmltlx60vxym9fetk9czz6kddq6fhvkf4z3usy9qtrh makes no sense. Import and shipping will make the product uninteresting / too expensive. But, if we had a EU distribution center buying from US merchants in larger scale, it would completely change the cost and import prices for such products.

Bitcoinzone .com ??

Could people create enough of their offerings to be able to make that work?

Can nostr:nprofile1qqsx845ex2wm3cu9d8e93xm282nmpu33emyr5aufu20s5wt8sx7h6uspzemhxue69uhkummnw3ex2mrfw3jhxtn0wfnj75zw7ta mass produce wallets or belts and what does that do to their relative value?

Can nostr:nprofile1qqsppdnxpjc82jlm3yn9gawhv7p4nm69a3f80rg5ycw305xned2s0hcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshsz9rhwden5te0v9kxwmeww468smewdahx2tcq7d5tl maintain his production long term at a mass scale like that?

What about nostr:nprofile1qqsp4a2f2kfkh6qyl9gpqer75kk6t3mz0mwlqu6207qnhwswx8hdjcqpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qg4waehxw309ahx7um5wghx77r5wghxgetk9uv9hj9d? Can you mass produce Iranian rugs like that?

I don't know if that model works at the scale most exist at on Nostr.

Valid point. I guess it would be a very exclusive platform and perhaps variety in products can hedge against quantities to some extend. But yes, I'm thinking small distro centres to start with. Me for example I've been thinking I'd sell extra virgin oil and jamon from Spain. I can get a LOT of that. But there is no platform to make this a viable endeavour just yet.

I'm sure there's something there, just not sure what it would look like.

Small warehouses, maybe 2000 sqft that operate as small shipping centres? Order and distribute various items from the other countries in the network.

Imo, nostr:nprofile1qqsfv596hq3r0hpzdqc60d0xft2qrq80wxh8304pz53324mwd0q8y3cpr9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrfvejk7mnzw33ju7re0gq35amnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd4jhxumpvajhqatndqhxjmcpzemhxue69uhkummnw3ezuum9xajku73wvdhk6s9t3le is the model. I want to see more of this.

Also, what creators need is someone willing to invest in them. "Hey, I'm opening a store and I have 5 millions sats budget for you. Can you craft me an offer?".

Simply offering me to host my products or ask me to invest in them and pay back as they sell is not helpful and personally not what I need. I see those offers as larp.

So far the only serious people I've seen in this industry was Bitcoin Bazar. The deal happened fast and no bullshit. (Yes I ca work at scale... When someone is willing to invest.)

Yeah that sounds about right.

If only I had capital to invest, I would!

I like this idea though, I might look into it further as I would love to be a part of something like that.

Crazy thing is you had more capital to invest than someone like Max Kaiser. This is why I've come to realize I can't and shouldn't expect rich mainstream Bitcoiners to invest their money in us.

This is in part why recently I reached out to Karo for Leathermint socks and soapminer for leathermint soap. Karo can't do it yet and soap doesn't seem interested so I'll comeback when I can offer something he can't refuse but the idea is to build this store myself by investing in others here. Heck if I could I would be selling pega-leathermint rugs.

One day maybe. Now back to the Bitcoin mines 🐺 theres no point in talking I prefer getting to work until I can do it. I may be very close to get a new product from a new artisan tho πŸ‘€

Love this. Keep grinding man, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I was thinking even smaller than 2000 sqft to get started but yes that would be the general idea. 3-4 small(ish) places in different geo-locations stocking products made by or for Bitcoiners paid for in Bitcoin. I mean there is a lot of products out there you can sell. Again, I'd be interested in selling artisan products from Spain.

In my opinion Bitcoiners are very focused on eating healthy food and buying quality products. Something that is getting harder and harder to source.

Absolutely agreed. I would love to be a part of some solution in this area.

My small business isn’t built for mass production, as that requires a large-scale setup. Instead, I focus on artistic work and high-quality pieces over quantity.

That's what I thought. Sounds like a boutique model would work better for you as well.

Rare and unique product πŸ˜‰

The best kind!

As you should! I think comparing the idea with Amazon suggested that it has to be the size of Amazon. That's of course unrealistic. Think of it more like very small storage places in different geo-location that put in small bulk orders from other countries to stock and sell (or forward mail) those products.

An Amazon type entity won't scale at this time. Maybe a decade.

Agreed but even Amazon started small. Scaling comes with success!
