✨💜✨
Is this recent!? Saw that Garret McNamara’s series about the place and the100 foot wave was still in play - so sick!!
No, this happened in 2018, and he broke the record back then. The one with Gmac happened in 2013.
"It’s fitting Seb mentioned destiny. Cast your mind back, way back, to the start of 2018; Koxa had just broken the record at Nazaré a couple of months before and momentum was building around that video. Then, on January 18, 2018, Sebastian surfed a gigantic freak of a wave out there. Ribs through the face of the wave, Sebastian an ant in comparison to the size of this thing. At the time, many thought it had broken Koxa’s new record. That video of Sebastian’s wave broke the internet. Only, the wave wasn’t attributed to him, it was wrongly attributed as Rodrigo’s and touted as Koxa’s ‘record breaking 115 foot wave.’ To this day, it is still living life on social media."
