Is there a private way to run an AI chat bot that can save your chats and remember you?

That’s the biggest advantage of something like ChatGPT over say the Venice.ai

ChatGPT constantly updates its memory to remember previous chats to make it truly an effective AI agent. With Venice each chat is as if we’ve never spoken before.

Is this the price to pay for privacy? Other options?

Im wondering the same thing

Have you explored "god mode" on venice.ai?

Like the pro account? I have that, is there a “god mode”?

You can prime the chats with system prompts and weights.

I keep useful prompts and weight configs as a text file locally. If i need a different "agent" ill swap out the prompts. Ill also refactor or branch the prompts. Im not an expert yet, and venice takes more work than centralized, but you gain some skills and maintain more control.

Oh oh yes I see, good idea I will play with prompts more

System prompts are good for this. But you need to input the data yourself. They don't learn.

What I miss is a backup of chats on Venice. I had to clear the cache for another site and lost all my chats...

ChatGPT memory seems to run out really fast and upgrading doesn’t include extra memory? Wtf

You’re referring to a memory system. There’s a variety of memory techniques and so far chatgpt is one of the more practical, personal implementations. They might be doing simple RAG or something a little more clever. Simple RAG is a big first step but also has its limitations.

Short answer is yes, lots of people know how to do this. But in each use case, there could be a lot of tweaking to get it right. The tech is also getting better.
