I think the issue is that routing and therefore fees do not have perfect predictability, so they have to make you leave some wiggle room, which for clearing out purposes leads to the ol’ 500 guess and checks

HOWEVER ☝️ as unterstandable as that may be, surely SOMEONE can devise the code to “predict” when you have a mf direct channel with the other end of the tx, whether it’s 0 fee channel or not
